Sheep & Rare Breeds

The sheep section attracts Breeders from Lancashire and as far away as Harrogate in Yorkshire.

There will be classes for Texels and Suffolks. In the rare breeds section there will be North Ronaldsay, Hebridian, Ryeland, Balwen, Greyfaced Dartmoor, Shropshire, Wensleydale and Shetland classes.

There is a class for young handler for children from 3 years to 12 years. They don't need a sheep of their own as some of the exhibitors will loan them one (a quiet one of course). Parents can help the younger children so please come and take part.

The RBST (Rare Breeds Survival Trust ) charity has chosen the show to hold heats for the Grand Final of the RBST Young Shepherds competition, that will be held on Sunday 22 September 2103 at the Royal Country Of Berkshire Show. There will be classes for age groups, 8-12 year old`s and 13-16 year old`s.
