World Horse Welfare Penny Farm is a charity dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of abused and neglected horses and ponies was opened in 2001.

Penny Farm accommodates approx 65 horses and has a team of 9 grooms who care for them daily. When they arrive many of the ponies are suffering from various problems; malnutrition; huge worm burdens, lice & skin infections and overgrown feet. Initially they are brought back to good health and are then assessed to determine their future potential; many of them will be broken to ride or drive whilst others will look for new homes as companions to other horses.

Rehoming is vital to us as we need to find new homes for rehabilitated horses to free up the space for us to rescue others who need our help.

World Horse Welfare Penny Farm is open to the public Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday 11am – 4pm and we welcome group visits by arrangement.  Visitors can look around our stable area to meet the horses currently undergoing rehabilitation, take a walk around the paddocks or enjoy a drink and our famous homemade cakes in the coffee shop.
